Alpine Dachsbracke

Alpine-Erzgebirgler Dachsbracke.  Erz Mountains Dachsbracke.  Rote Dachsbracke.

To the uninitiated this breed looks like a taller, larger version of the standard wire-haired Dachshund, but the standard for the breed calls for a coat that is dense and coarse but not wire.  The most common colour being stag red.

Alpine Dachsbracke
Local varieties of Dachsbracke have existed in the Bohemian - Styrian Erz Mountains for centuries, this versatile breed is the culmination of hybridisation between those breeds.
